枕头山观摩

终于轮到枕头山观摩了！这次的观摩，当然少不了到当地名胜-望龙埤游览！基于之前几次的活动协助，育豪大哥说要把导览这个重大的担子交由我处理，前一天晚上的我心想：天啊！想说之前那几次的解说我也忘了一半，看来要漏夜好好复习一下！

从玉兰观摩回来以后，我们先到望龙埤，经验不足的我只能简单地介绍望龙埤的由来及枕头山的故事，真是汗颜，幸好育豪大哥继续帮忙介绍望龙埤！虽然天气很热，但是大家还是很配合地随着我们绕望龙埤和听讲解，真是一班好学生！由于我们有几位国际志工，英文解说这个担子便落到通晓两语的国内及几位国外志工身上。然后，我们再到大安药园参观，并了解陈老师草本养生理念。临走前，志工们还体验台湾童玩-弹观音及草本枕头DIY，把健康枕头带回家去！接下来，我们还到了阿兰成著名的天然泳池进行水上活动。在这个炎热的天气，泳池的冷水让人舒畅无比！在活动结束后，大家一伙儿到陈老师家享用美味的药膳餐，还吃得津津有味呢！

这几次的观摩，令我意识到大家都很喜欢到休闲农场，休闲农场的活动并不会在城市里能体验到。来到休闲农场，自然而然会放慢脚步，放松心情，感受大自然！

庄腳所在

这天，Dani和我来到了庄脚所在帮忙！之前，我们在查看DM时，就发觉庄脚所在是个很特别，因为吴爸吴妈写道那是一个专门为城市人提供发呆的地方。果然，不出我们所料，当我们在进口处，就感觉很悠闲悠闲了。

进去的时候要特别小心，那里也有温馨提示小心你们的伞别勾坏了从天而降的花。

这里的环境很不错吧。气氛超好的，时不时拉几个三五好友来这里喝杯下午茶感觉满惬意

为了体验庄脚所在，我们还在这里当了一天的服务生。这里的客人来自四面八方，当然我也趁这个机会和客人介绍我们是国际志工，也有不乏的客人初次来到枕头山，我们也会帮忙介绍枕头山的好康。虽然我们来了才几个星期，但感觉就像是这里的地陪了，哈哈。

哦这里还有自行车出租！不想到枕头山开车？骑自行车也是个不错的选择！沿路上可以欣赏这里的美景，体验被山环绕的感觉!

大安药园休闲农场 Part II

Taaadaaa! This post is definitely an educational post, because I'm blogging about some medicinal herbs that can be found in Da An!  Do you know that herbs are very useful? They can be used in culinary, medicine and other spiritual usage! 


So let me introduce the herbs in Da An! They are normally medicinal herbs (: 


Mr Chen, Da An's teacher is very creative in teaching as she relates Chinese Zodiac (the twelve animals) to introduce the herbs! Firstly, let me test you all, what are the animals in Chinese Zodiac? Well, there's no reward for answering this question correctly Hahaha! 


There are....mouse,cow,tiger,rabbit,dragon,snake,horse,goat,monkey,chicken,dog and lastly pig! (must be in sequence please) :P


*Drum rolls* The first animal is...

Mouse! 

So the herb that relates to the mouse is...

                                                  Salvia coccinea L

For those who can read Chinese, can you see the relationship 

between the zodiac and the herb? 

It has the word "mouse" or 鼠 in the name! It can be used for treatment of fever and abdominal pain :)

So what's the next animal?

                                                                        Cow! Mooooooo

             Morning Glory, aka Ipomoea nil

Again, there's the word "Cow" or 牛 in the name (:

                                  Sansevieria. It can be used to treat cold cough and bruises  (:

Taadaa...here is Ms Rabbit! 

Hmmm are you curious about how dandelion relates to rabbit? In Taiwan, it is normally known as 兔兒菜 (again, the word "rabbit" or 兔 in the name) It's very useful because it helps to treat red eyes, sore throat,cold, fever, gastroenteritis and etc etc. There're lots more but I can't list down all here! :(

大安藥園休閒農場 Part I

Aloha! Me again. It's time to update another new story yeah?

Initially, we're quite worried about the promotion stuff, but our TN, Yu hao is really nice and he told us that don't worry about it first. All we need to do now is just experience everything and help out as much as we can in Zhen Tou Shan so that we can produce good quality promotion and marketing stuff. How kind he is.

So today, we went to Da An Herbal Medicine Leisure Farm. There are hundreds of herbs and plants that can be used in medication in the farm! We were informed that there was a group of elementary students coming to farm for study tour so we had to help to conduct the activities (:

 For those who came back from the farm, they had to complete the puzzles! And it's all about herbs, cool right?

 Aha! aloe vera planting in process. Everyone get to plant their own aloe vera and bring it back!

Guava-wrapping day

Summer in Taiwan, can you imagine how hot it is? Let me tell you, it's like the weather in Malaysia - hot and humid. So there is a reminder for you all, make sure that you apply sun block before stepping out from the house!

Okayyy, let's get it started.  As Zhen tou shan is famous for guavas, so we can see guavas EVERYWHERE! 

There are 8 guava trees in Chai Da Jie's house, so we're helping her to wrap the baby guavas :) 

Do you know the reason we need to wrap the guavas? 

Actually it could prevent bugs and protect the outer skin of guavas! 

 This was my first time (and Dani, my partner in Zhen Tou Shan) to wrap guava. It's a truly fun and interesting experience. However, there is one thing that you should be aware of is.. the mosquitoes! Make sure that you apply mosquito repellent before heading to the  garden.

隐居山林

 Hello! I'm Mei Jin from Malaysia, from AIESEC in UNMC Malaysia! *claps please*

Well, why I chose this project?

Initially I was planning to go Vietnam for GCDP, but things didnt go as I planned earlier at last minute *cries*. I was about to give up to go for GCDP, until I saw this Taiwan Farm Fun Taiwan project :) Oh yeah I'm a nature lover! That's why I got excited when I saw this project on aiesec.net and it sounded fun!


So taaadaaaaa, I'm in Taiwan already for 3 days and I'm located in Zhen Tou Shan Agriculture Area. 


Unlike in Malaysia,the sun rises at  5am! I thought I'm going to be late for my work  every time when I open my eyes because of the sunshine -______- 

This is 隐居山林, my first homestay in Ilan!  It's so beautiful and the hosts are really friendly! (: I feel that I'm back to my home in Malaysia again. As the hosts are vegetarians, so we just followed their diet :) Although it's vegetarian food, it tasted delicious!

The house is HUGE.

 There are several rooms that you can choose from. Each room has its own uniqueness! 

They grow some vegetables outside of the house too! And there are lots cute decorations around the house.

A home feels home is not only because of the house, it's the bonding between family (: No matter how far you go, there's always a place called home.
